Last Appointment Fr 9/2/16

On Friday I had a 1010am appointment at Dr. Kwedar's office at the Springfield Clinic. I got there at 945am and I was called in at ten, and I was out by 1010am.

His nurse did some rudimentary eye chart testing in the hall area. I heard her say that I was reading some letters from the '20-2-' line. When I got into the office, I thought she said that she would put some 'dye' into my eyes. I thought I misheard, but it really was dye. When I wiped my eyes with a tissue, I could see that there was a very vivid yellow stain on the kleenex. This procedure didn't hurt or cause any difference in my vision.

The doctor said that I should continue to see my optician at Walmart. He might have meant that since this guy referred me to him, he had a professional obligation to send me back.

I told him of a slight scratchiness that I sometimes have in the left eye, but he said that it might take more time to heal completely. And I told him that the vast improvement far outweighs this minor inconvenience.

I can have the right eye done whenever I feel the need, and it's completely up to me to determine when. I thought that I had to lose a certain degree of vision before the insurance would cover, but he said that it was purely a subjective decision and I was the one to make it.

I will go back to Walmart, for an eye test only, sometime late next Spring. I don't want to wear glasses unless I absolutely have to. The Dollar Store reading glasses are just fine. Kwedar mentioned that you can get these same glasses at Goodwill for a buck a piece. I got taken!
