Follow Up- We 7/13/16

I was scheduled for 10:05am and I had to wait almost twenty minutes. I thought that I was so absorbed in my phone that I didn't hear my name.

A nurse gave me an eye exam and this was the first time that I became aware of how much my vision had improved. When I took off the glasses, what I could see was much, much sharper. She told me that I was to continue the drops for a week, and no swimming for a month. Reasonable workouts are OK. It seems that the big issues are getting irritants in the eye and anything striking the eye.

Dr. Kwedar spent a few minutes with me and basically re-said what the nurse had just told me. Then, he said that it might help if I replaced my left lense with a blank. I didn't even know that this was possible, but I decided to visit the optometrist on the first floor.

The older woman at the optometrist's office couldn't have been nicer. She removed the lense and let me see what my vision would be like for reading, and after I tested it out, I decided to have it replaced. Dr. Kwedar said that it would be fifteen dollars, but it was only ten. While I was waiting, I was staring at my reflection in the mirror and it felt like I was looking at my face for the first time. I could see every line and whisker.

When I walked outside in the sunshine, I realized that my old lense adjusted for sunlight, but, of course, the blank did not. I went back into the office and she told me that I could have it done, but it would be over a hundred dollars and the glasses would have to be sent away. No Thanks!

I have another follow up on Wednesday, 7/20 at 945am.
